ঈদের সময় ডিমের দাম ২ টাকা করে কমলেও এক সপ্তাহ পর দাম বেড়েছে দেড় টাকা করে। সোমবার একটি ডিম কিনতে ভোক্তাদের গুনতে হয়েছে সাড়ে ১৪ টাকা।
ব্যবসায়ীরা জানান, ঈদের আগে ১০০ ডিমের দাম ছিল ১২৫০ টাকা। আর ঈদের সময় থেকে পরবর্তী পাঁচ দিন দাম নেমেছিল ১০৫০ টাকায়। তবে রোববার থেকে দুই দিনে ১০০ টাকা বেড়ে হয়েছে ১১৫০ টাকা।
ঢাকার তেজগাঁওয়ের তেজকুনিপাড়ায় ডজন হিসাবে ১৬০ টাকায় এবং হালি হিসাবে ৫৫ টাকা দরে ডিম বিক্রি করছেন ওয়াজউদ্দিন।
তিনি বলেন, “এখন ডিমের দাম আগের মত একটু বাড়তেছে। তেজগাঁওয়ে পাইকারিতে লাল ডিম ডজন প্রতি বিক্রি হচ্ছে ১৫০ টাকায়, আর সাদা ডিম ১৪০ টাকায়।”
তেজগাঁও রেলগেইট এলাকা থেকে বেছে বেছে ভাঙা ডিম খুঁজছিলেন আঁখি আক্তার।
তিনি বিডিনিউজ টোয়েন্টিফোর ডটকমকে বলেন, “ভালো ডিমের দাম তো বেশি। তাই ভাঙ্গা ডিম নিমু। একটু পরতা পরব। ফার্মগেটের এদিকে একটা মেসের জন্য ভাঙ্গা ডিম খুঁজতাছি। এগুলা আবার বেশিদিন রাখাও যায় না।”
আঁখি ৪৫টি ভাঙা ডিম কিনেছেন ৩৩০ টাকা দিয়ে। সেই হিসাবে প্রতিটি ডিমের দাম পড়ে সাড়ে সাত টাকা করে।

গত বছর এই সময়ে আলুর দর ৩৫ থেকে ৪০ টাকা হয়ে যাওয়ার পর আমদানির অনুমতি নিয়ে বাণিজ্য ও কৃষি মন্ত্রণালয় থেকে নানা আলোচনা পর্যালোচনা হয়েছে, কী কী করা যায়, তা নিয়ে নানামুখি উদ্যোগও নেওয়া হয়েছিল।
সেই আলুর খুচরা দর এখন ৫৮ থেকে ৬০, কোথাও কোথাও ৬২ থেকে ৬৪ টাকা, কিন্তু এ নিয়ে কোনো উদ্যোগই চোখে পড়ছে না।
গত বছর এমন সময় দেশি পেঁয়াজের দর ছিল ৬৫ থেকে ৭০ টাকা, ভারতীয় পেঁয়াজের দর ছিল ৩৫ থেকে ৪৫ টাকা। সেই পেঁয়াজ ঈদের আগেই উঠে গিয়েছিল ৯০ টাকা। ঈদের পর দুই সপ্তাহ যেতে না যেতেই সেখান থেকে বাড়ল আরও ১০ টাকা।
শুক্রবার রাজধানীর কারওয়ান বাজার ও তেজগাঁওয়ের তেজকুনিপাড়া রেললাইন সংলগ্ন কাঁচাবাজার ঘুরে এসব তথ্য জানা যায়।
খুচরা বিক্রেতারা বলেছেন, ঈদে পেঁয়াজের চাহিদা বেড়েছিল। ছুটি ও বৃষ্টির কারণে সরবরাহে ঘাটতি দেখা দেওয়ায় দাম নতুন করে বেড়েছে।
তেজকুনিপাড়ায় বাজারে পেঁয়াজের দাম শুনে বিস্মিত হয়েছেন রহিমা খাতুন। তিনি বলেন, “ঈদের আগে আগে যখন বাড়তেছিল, তখন ভাবছি মাংসের সঙ্গে অতি দরকারি পণ্য, চাহিদা বেশি তাই দাম বাড়তেছে। কিন্তু ঈদ শেষ। এখন ঈদের চেয়েও বেশি দাম বাড়বে এটা কীভাবে সম্ভব?”
কারওয়ান বাজারে খুচরায় ফরিদপুরের পেঁয়াজ ৯০ টাকা কেজি আর পাবনার পেঁয়াজ ১০০ টাকা কেজি দরে বিক্রি হচ্ছে।
খুচরা বিক্রেতা আব্দুল জব্বার বলেন, “এখন পেঁয়াজের দাম একটু চড়া। ভারতীয় যে পেঁয়াজ কয়েক জায়গায় পাইবেন, সেটাই ১০০ টাকা কেজি। তাইলে দেশি পেঁয়াজের দাম কমব কেমনে?”
